About Us

We care for anyone over the age of 65 male or female, including married couples or partners. We also look after clients suffering from dementia.

Accommodation is available for 33 residents, and all rooms have en-suite facilities. There is a bathroom which has been equipped with a Malibu hi lo hydraulically operated bath. The Home has also recently added a self-contained specialist dementia care unit of 9 bedrooms.

Our staff

Twenty-four hour care and services are provided by around 30 staff including a gardener, a full-time skilled maintenance man and a full-time cook – many of whom have service of 10 years or more.

We believe strongly that the quality of care provided depends upon positive, involved management and a dedicated capable staff. To this end Chalkney House is committed to training and all staff attend a wide variety of courses, including food hygiene, fire safety, moving and handling; drug handling and bereavement training. In recognition of the quality of training provided by Chalkney House, the home was awarded the Investors in People in 1998 which it is still recognised to date.
