Activities

Social activities arranged within the home reflect the abilities of the residents and therefore will vary, depending upon the mix of capabilities at any given time. Resident's family, relatives and friends are invited to all events.

On a regular basis the home holds a Christmas party at which professional entertainment is provided. A strawberry cream tea, taking advantage of the large garden is held in the summer. The more mobile residents visit local pubs once every few months for a lunchtime meal, either arranged by the home or by the local parish council.

Other visits, although not on a regular basis, are made to, amongst other places, Marks Hall (a local Arboretum) Maldon and the Four Colnes Horticultural Show.

Other regular events include a visit by a retailer specialising in clothing for the elderly. A volunteer comes to the home to hold bingo sessions on a weekly basis.

TV's, sound systems and a range of games and books are also provided.
